Rudyard Area Schools

Yesterday at the Board of Education's Special Board meeting the Board conducted interviews for the posted Superintendent position. We were fortunate to have three highly qualified candidates make it to the final interview stage of this process. Each candidate's interview revealed what an incredible job each one would do as our Superintendent, which made the decision a difficult one to make. After discussion of all the great qualities of each candidate the Board of Education voted to elect Mr. Tom McKee as the Superintendent of Rudyard Area Schools starting July 1, 2022. We would like to give a big "Thank you" to our RAS community, Board of Education, and Superintendent candidates for their continued support and commitment to our school district.

We're very excited to announce that with the help of our Library and our librarian, Mrs. Porterfield, we've been able to digitalize many of our past yearbooks! We've put three up so far (1937, 1940, & 1958) and intend on releasing more in the upcoming days on the Rudyard website (https://www.rudyardbulldogs.org/page/past-yearbooks). 1960's releasing 5/2 1970's releasing 5/4 1980's releasing 5/6 1990's releasing 5/9 2000's releasing 5/11 2010's releasing 5/13 We've listed all yearbooks we currently have, if you have a yearbook from one of the missing years we'd love to be able to digitalize it for the website. The Rudyard High School Youth Advisory Council (YAC) is taking grant applications. Any group/project that benefits the community is able to apply. The follow is a link to the application - https://5il.co/19gf8 Any applications must be submitted to the High School Office by 1:00PM on May 2nd.

Cancelled: HS Track and Field scheduled for today, Tuesday, April 26 is cancelled due to the weather.

Cancelled: The JV Softball game @ Cheboygan today, Tuesday, April 26, has been cancelled.

The JV Softball game that was scheduled for home on Friday, April 29 is now going to be played in Kalkaska. Start time for this game will be 4:30pm.

Cancelled: JV Softball game for Wednesday, April 27 @ Pickford has been cancelled.

Congratulations to our 2022 EUP Senior Scholar Athletes. In order to be recognized for the award, students must participate in a Varsity EUP Conference Sport and maintain a 3.5 GPA. Congratulations to all!

Spectators, you do not need to purchase tickets ahead of time for the Varsity Softball/Baseball games in Cheboygan. You may purchase them at the gate.

Attention Grade 7-12 Students/Parents: 3rd Quarter Report Cards will be handed out today to students. Additionally: please see the included document for our upcoming spring events and important dates! Excited to finish the year strong!

The Varsity Girls Softball game on Friday, April 8th at Shepherd has been cancelled.

State Quarterfinal game today at 7:00PM in Munising for our Boys Basketball team as they play Ewen-Trout Creek High School! A couple reminders. For those going to the game in person, tickets must be purchased online through GoFan (https://gofan.co/app/events/567025?schoolId=MI10368). Please purchase your ticket before you get there, we've heard potentially of tickets running out. No tickets will be available at the front. Drive safe! You are able to watch the game online through the NFHS Network (https://www.nfhsnetwork.com/events/munising-high-school-munising-mi/game25c43c2bf), watching here does require a subscription to the website that may be cancelled at any time (maybe only for a month's time perhaps?). The game we expect will also be available on a radio station. We haven't confirmed which radio station yet, but once we do we'll share that information as well. Good Luck Bulldogs!
