Black Out
A few notes for tonight's Boys Basketball District Semi-Final game. The game will not be broadcasted by our Streaming Club as MHSAA rules do not allow anyone outside of NFHS to video stream post season games. We've heard of three radio/online stations coming to the game though, so you'll be able to listen to the game if you're unable to make it in person. Those stations we've been notified of are: WSOO, M123, & WUPN. None of those stations (or any others) will have video of the game. If you see advertisements saying to "watch here", it's very likely a scam. For those coming to the game, tip-off is at 6:00PM and tickets must be purchased online via GoFan here is the link for tickets tonight's game: https://gofan.co/app/events/930213?schoolId=MI10368

Today's Alumni Spotlight is Crystal (Neitling) Waggoner '92 What was your best memory from school? I have so many great memories from high school that revolve around music; band trip to Lansing, choir trip to Traverse City, Pep Band, Jazz Band, singing at a Madrigal dinner, and being selected to sing with the Navy Sea Chanters. However, my favorite memory, that I still talk about to this day, is Tricia and I trying so hard to get a detention our Senior year but failing miserably at it. We just wanted a detention slip for our Senior Memory Books. What was your favorite class/activity? I know you’ll all be shocked by this, based on my previous response, but my favorite classes were band and choir/chorale. My only regret is that I joined choir and tried out for chorale my Senior year because I was too afraid choir would not fit in my schedule and that I wasn’t good enough to sing with talented group that made up the chorale. What advice do you have for students? My advice to students is to be kind, genuinely kind. You never know what a fellow student or teacher is battling outside of school. Your smile or kind words in the hallway, classroom or on the playing field could truly make a difference for them. What did you do right out of high school, and what do you do now? After graduation I hopped on an airplane and toured Hong Kong and China with the Michigan Lions All State Band. I attended Central Michigan University to pursue a degree in Music Education. However, after my first year as a music student, I discovered I loved performing more as a hobby rather than a career and received a degree in Finance and Banking. I also received a graduate certificate in Forensic Accounting from Davenport University . I have worked at Notre Dame Federal Credit Union for 24 years in various capacities. I currently serve as the Chief Operations Officer (COO) where I oversee Payment Operations, Branch Operations, Facilities and Security Management, Strategic Initiatives and Project Management. No day is ever the same, which makes my job fun.

This week's alumni spotlight is Dan Kutchin '90. What was your best memory from school? My favorite memories are around Spirit Week! School pride, bonfires, goofy customs...We are BULLDOGS! I still love color orange What was your favorite class/activity? Mr. Peak's Geography class and Mr. Erfourth's Chorus Class. My love for exploration of places and music were firmly planted into my character from these two fine teachers. What advice do you have for students? I still struggle with confidence and know the bad times somehow shaped my outlook as an adult. Support each other, fight hard to make life better for others. Share victories, learn to see trouble early. Again...we are Bulldogs! Also, learn listen to teachers, pastors, and those with experience to find joy in life. What did you do right out of high school, and what do you do now? When I was in school, Mrs. Sprague asked me to help with the A/V team. It was a way to help me find myself, find joy, and use my talents. For the last year and a half I have been working in Video Teleconferencing for the 4 star General at NORAD and USNORTHERN COMMAND. 32 years ago this week, i started my career in telecommunications with USAF. I have lived in seven countries and worked inside Cheyenne Mountain. I had no idea where life would take me after school. Who knew a passion in high school would take me where it has. Thanks Mrs. Sprague!
