  POSITION SUMMARY: Intervention Specialist, teaching certificate for grades K-6 with specialization in reading preferred. Intervention specialist will be working with students struggling in the core academic areas. S/he will be responsible for providing students EXTRA academic support and intervention, in addition to their regular classroom instruction. Along with providing academic support, s/he will maintain records of all students chosen for the intervention program. S/he will set goals for student improvement and measure student progress, using standards set forth in the state’s standards while involving parents in all aspects of the program.     

  JOB DUTIES:   

  •  Knowledge on the NWEA and Leveled Literacy Assessments. Knowledge in Fountas and        Pinnell Intervention Reading program. 
  •  Work closely with building teaching staff to remain current in terms of K-6 curriculum. Monitor student progress on learning targets and log in data warehouse. 
  •  Work with individual students and/or small groups of students to reinforce learning of academic material or skills previously introduced by classroom teacher. 
  •  Cooperatively work with classroom teacher and building principal and alert them to any problem or special information about an individual student.

SALARY: Per Rudyard Federation of Teachers Contract
